Laural's first week in Sri Lanka

1 week down, 5 to go. My experience so far in sri lanka has been a whirlwind of emotions and experiences. I must admit, during my first couple of days in this strange, foreign place I questioned my whole reason for being here! why would I subject myself to tempt fate? Where on earth is the toilet paper?! everything was bizarre and unfamiliar. However, now that I have grown accustomed to these peculiarities and with the help of the more--‐than--‐welcoming AIESEC CS, I couldn’t imagine myself spending my summer anywhere else! The people are incredibly friendly, the scenery is to die for, the beach is the perfect getaway, and the exotic fruit make for a delicious, healthy meal alternative. if you want a chance to live outside your comfort zone and discover things about yourself you never knew existed, I would highly recommend sri lanka. I can’t wait for my project, egurugedara, to begin. i have seen the organizing committee at work, and they are definitely on the right path to making this a memorable experience for anyone involved.
