Company Overview

Present in over 126  countries and territories  and  with  over  100,000 members,  AIESEC  is  the world's largest  youth-run  organization, focused on providing a platform for youth  leadership development. AIESEC  offers  young  people  the opportunity to be global citizens, to change  the world,  and  to  get experience and skills that matter in the present world.

In addition to providing over 7,700 leadership positions and delivering over 470 conferences,  AIESEC also runs an exchange program that enables over 5,500 students and recent graduates the opportunity to live and work in another country.

AIESEC in Sri Lanka was started in 1995. Today it provides development experiences to young people from 4 universities – University of Moratuwa, University of Kelaniya, Uniersity of Sri Jayawardenapura and University of Colombo. Every year more than 50 foreign young people come on internships to companies in Sri Lanka and graduates from Sri Lanka go on exchanges to work in companies abroad.

AIESEC in Colombo South

History 

AIESEC Colombo South is one of the first two Local Committees in Sri Lanka which was formed parallel to the establishment of AIESEC in Sri Lanka in 1995. Since then Colombo South has been contributing to the vision of AIESEC enabling the youth to actively get involved in Global issues through the platform provided through AIESEC.

Today

Today AIESEC Colombo South has 61 members who are involved in different functions such as providing incoming and outgoing exchange opportunities local and foreign students, creating social awareness on global issues such as global warming and HIV and also addressing local issues such as English and IT education through AIESEC’s platform.

AIESEC in Colombo South was awarded with the LC Excellence Award at the Asia Pacific Conference held in Shanghai, China.

AIESEC’s Scope - 

AIESEC is a global, non-political, independent, not-for-profit organization run by students and recent graduates of institutions of higher education. Our members are interested in world issues, leadership and management. AIESEC does not discriminate on the basis of race, colour, gender, sexual orientation, creed, religion, national, ethnic or social origin.

AIESEC’s Approach-

AIESEC members live an integrated development experience. This involves leadership opportunities, international internships and interacting with a global network to support their development.
